The determination of the structural dynamic behaviour and their evolution during the different stages of their life is an important component of the activities of structural safety control. The forced vibration tests performed on dams for characterizing their dynamic behaviour remains one of the most reliable techniques in this area. In this paper the testing methodology is presented. The experimental results of a forced vibration test performed at Baixo Sabor dam are presented, including the mathematical model developed, with the representation of the system dam-reservoir-foundation, for their interpretation.
