To promote scientific and technical co-operation in the field of experimental knowledge of Structural Mechanics and, in particular, Experimental Stress Analysis, with a view to developing and using measuring devices and processes for determining stresses in materials and in all types of structures and mechanisms or their components.

“AEngineering plays a fundamental role in finding new answers to humanity’s problems. Since resources are finite, only with more efficient and reliable solutions can the well-being and mobility of the population be improved in a sustainable way. The range of analytical/numerical tools currently available makes it possible to find answers to the complex problems of today’s world. However, the development and validation of these tools and new technologies is only possible with the support of experimental methods. Experimentation, which is closely associated with the progress of humanity, continues to be an important mainstay in its development. For all these reasons, APAET seeks to promote scientific and technical cooperation through experimentation, encouraging its use both in teaching and in the practice of engineering.”
