ABSTRACT:
The determination of the structural dynamic behaviour and their evolution during the different stages of their lifetime is an important component of the activities of structural safety control. The forced vibration tests performed on concrete dams for characterizing their dynamic behaviour remains one of the most reliable techniques in this area. In this paper the testing methodology, including recent developments, is presented. The experimental results of a forced vibration test performed at Baixo Sabor dam are presented, including the mathematical model developed for their interpretation.
