ABSTRACT:

This article describes equipments and tests required for an aeronautic company repair and overhaul capability of pneumatic systems components. Pneumatic systems are predominant in the narrow and wide body aircraft, including the compressed bleed air for cabin pressurization, air conditioning, anti ice, and reactors start-up functions. The operation of pneumatic systems and components is studied, as well as the approval methodology of tools and test equipments specified by manufacturers and system integrators. The pneumatic systems components referred are current type-certificate approved units of the new family of commercial aircraft Embraer E-Jet ". The regulated methodology for the validation of tools and equipment is presented in an experimental case study of calibrated orifices verification with air flow, launched in production as expedite practice for the user.
