ABSTRACT:
The main objective of this work is to assess the biomechanical strength in the proximal femur, when submitted to different loading conditions due to quotidian and muscular activity. The aim is to compare the neck femur strength, through the stresses distribution in the proximal femur bone, in three female patients with different ages. The discussion of results, function of patient weight body mass and a maximum identical value for all patients, considers all numerical simulations. For this last analysis presenting the same load condition, the stress distribution will be analysed as dependent on the thickness variation of the cortical femur bone, function of different ages. The influence of the cortical thickness in the bone strength has been introduced for different authors in this research field. The assessment of compression and tensile in bone tissues will be also a motive for results discussion. This work will allow to identify the fracture risk zone, for each femur in analysis.
