ABSTRACT:

The response of reinforced concrete (RC) elements under biaxial (2D) cyclic bending moment is recognized as a very important research topic for building structures in earthquake prone regions, but experimental research work on the inelastic response of RC members under compression axial force and 2D lateral cyclic bending loading conditions is currently very limited. Experimental tests of RC repaired and/or strengthened columns subjected to biaxial load are further reduced. Thus, in order to analyze and assess different strategies for the seismic repairing and retrofitting of RC columns, an experimental campaign was performed using the CFRP jacketing and steel technique, with the main purpose of evaluate the effect/efficiency in the stiffness degradation, ductility and energy dissipation
